SO I TRIED SCORING A GOOD LOOKING CHEAP(ER) SET OF CLIP-ONS OFF EGAY, BUT WHEN THE ARRIVED, THEY ALUMINUM WAS SO THIN I COULD BEND IT WITH ONE FINGER.
SO THOSE WERE A NO GO BECAUSE I'VE BROKEN THICKER STEEL. FUNK THAT STUFF
INSTEAD OF SHELLING OUT 200+ FOR A SET OF ROLAND SANDS CLIP-ONS, I DECIDED TO BUILD MY OWN THAT BOLT ON AND PUT YOU HANDS IN THE SAME EXACT POSITION. DAMN THINGS TOOK ME A WEEK TO GET THEM RIGHT-
Looks bad ass...but I would weld them to each other cuz you don't want them to rotate forward if you hit a pothole or god forbid go down. I had clip ons on a drag bike once and they seemed fine till the long end and then they started pulling back on one side at 130 mph....a bit upsetting that!!!
I DID JUST THAT! I WANTED TO DO A CURVED PIECE TO GIVE IT AN ADDED TOUCH BUT WENT WITH SOLID STRAIGHT FOR STRENGTH. ITS ACTUALLY HIDING UNDER THE TOP TREE.
