Its been warm as fuck in Chicagoland as of late. Went over to the garage and started to mess around with some other bars and risers I had laying around. Think I found the winning combination.

Felt good to get out the other day and toss down a couple beers with my friends and talk motorcycles, summer time plans, and all the runs and events we hope to attend this year. Both of the above bike pictures are from previous violation tours. We've all been getting amped up for it. Lots of people saying they are gonna show up. Guess we will have to wait and see. Dont miss it. Cant imagine its been 4 years since the first one. Met alot of good friends along the way, and we still keep in contact. Its the common bond between brothers. FOREVER TWO WHEELS!!!

Looking at the map today. As long as all the roads are smooth on my dry run. The Violation Tour run will be heading out from Savanna IL, crossing over into Iowa through Dubuque. We will follow the Mississippi River north crossing into Prarie Du Chien WI to continue following the mighty miss. The short ride from Prarie Du Chien up to LaCrosse is something I have done before and its awesome. Before we hit Lacrosse we will go East through Wildcat Mountain State Park area, ending up in Mauston WI. Thanks for everyones input on roads and etc. Its only January and Im getting the itch.

Thanks to my friend Darci Buttera, we have our final camping site for the Violation Tour. She put me in touch with her buddy Pete who has 7 acres in the middle of nowhere near Mauston,WI. From what I gather theres a river, waterfall, and some cliff diving to be had. I'd imagine it to be just as majestic as this beautiful unicorn that you see above.

Saturday June 16th, 3-5 hour scenic ride through some of the best WI backroads you've ever ridden.

I really cannot wait, I think this years run will be of the better ones.

So 1 1/2 years later and I have finally finished. I've been going through a bunch of shit like most people do where I had to get my life together and take care of what is important. Got a new job that has been taking up most of my time and the rest goes to my 9 year old son and old lady. So with that sliver of free time that I have, I was able to finish up up my 77 Ironhead. I'm soo happy how this bike turned out. The down side is that it is the middle of winter and I'm dying to lay down some miles. I gotta give a shout out to a few people. Bobby "the leg" aka tri pod, from King Kustoms out of Lombard IL did most of my welding, let me use his machines/tools, and made/designed a sweet oil tank bracket for me. Dave York from KDX Auto Painting out of Lakemoor IL laid down the beautiful 3 stage Rootbeer. Dale from Dales M/C out of Island Lake IL helped me out with the engine, and other little stuff. Like I said, finally it is done and I am looking forward to getting some miles ridden with those who I am close with and new! Oh, I almost forgot to thank Joshua Sebastian. Even though I re-covered the solo seat, thanks for handing it my way and for giving me stories to tell!

Watching Christmas Story at this time of the year just brings up so many emotions. I dont post really any personal shit on here. But, Christmas just makes me think about everything and life in general. Friends, Family, Life etc... I lost my Mom a couple years ago to Cancer. She was 55. Times like now, I wish she was still around. We used to watch Christmas Story every year. It was fuckin awesome. She was one of my best friends, always there, giving advice, drinking beer, competing in the number of tattoos that we had, riding on the back of my Dads softail,, next to me on my 67 Triumph and coming home later than me on some nights. Even though she drove me crazy, she was my Mom and no one will every compare. We are so much alike, good and bad.

I dream about her alot. She lives in the same house...my grandparents house, literally miles away from where she is buried. Down south, in some hilljack town, I see her from time to time. I wake up and sometimes I just cant remember...wanting to fall back asleep & just spend more time with her. Its all very lucid, sometimes surreal. But I know that is where she is.... at least in my mind.

At my weakest moments, I pray to her for strength.

.......I had this dog that I rescued (Roxy). She was half Lab and Shepard bitch. I saved her from a shelter and brought her home when I was living with my P's still. I had her for about 9 years. She always had a weird connection with my Mom. Before my Mom would have seizures, this dog would freak the fuck out. Whining, pacing, just very odd. she always gave my Mom a "heads up". Animals are weird like that, and I am glad to of had Roxy within our Family to give my Mom some sort of comfort.

Roxy is currently in Biker Heaven with my Momma. I am planning on riding down to southern IL to finally re-unite the two in spring. It only seems fitting.

So, as I think about all this personal shit at this specific time of the year, please appreciate and love the small things in life, your family, your true friends, your pets, and really get out there and live life. It doesnt last forever!!!!! Be kind, treat others with respect, live long and prosper..and dont shoot your eye out.

So, I sold my s-10 to a one legged 1%er and junked my 85 Riv, so I had some play money. I found this 64 C10 in Jonesville MI. I'm not really a car guy but I want something to bomb around in during the week and weekends running errands and shit. I think it will be a solid truck. SBC283,2 speed powerglide, drum brakes. Gotta say it was pretty fun blasting this beast around the backroads on MI on my initial test drive. Old trucks are fucking cool. Plus, I feel like I got a deal on her.

Me,Scabie Scott and Panhead John decided to do some Fall weather riding the other weekend. We all know theres a point in October where the weather is gonna turn and you have that last perfect weekend to enjoy it before Winter decides to bombard us with frigid temps and blizzard like conditions. The only time I like to wake up on a weekend at 7:30am is when I know Im gonna lay down some miles with some friends. In fact, this was the first time me and Scabie Scott have had the opportunity this season to do some riding together. His Chop has been sitting at a local shop for 6 plus months (long story), and his newly bought pan/shovel has been a bundle of joy giving him electrical problems. With a belly full of pancakes and sausage we had no destination or set plans. We headed north to Wisconsin on some back roads stopping at a couple local bars to sip down some adult cocktails,relax, and just enjoy the almost 80 degree day. From Janesville, we took some back roads back through Lake Geneva where we made friends with some 16 year old spaz on his brothers enduro. As the sun was setting I jumped on the highway I got home just in time before the temps started to drop. It was definetly what I needed to end the summer with. A good ride, nice weather, and good friends.

Kicking over your machine to ride to another mans memorial that had lost his life on a bike, is a little surreal.It's all to celabrate a life but, a celebration that reminds you of the reason we do it and the the feeling that can never be replaced by anything on earth and seems that death is the only thing that can seperate you from the love you have for your bike.

80 degree weather in October for a week straight is nothing less then heaven sent. When life seem to be uncontrolable, an evening of good riding,friends and like minded people seems to brings everything back into focus The smell of decaying organic matter and bright colors in the tree line are still noticable at night and its a slap in the face when you realize that we will soon be left with only our stories of summer and anticipate new ones new ones being made.

This morning was perfect,no traffic on Lake shore drive and the lakes breeze made for a moment in time that I wish had a replay button so that I could ride there forever.We headed south the street names stopped being names and started becoming numbers.The traffic on 55 was backed up so,with a wink and a head nod we decided to split lanes.It's amazing how many sons of bitches decided to test there luck and play cop to try to keep you from passing.I'd think that tattooed beared dudes on choppers would be the last people you'd wanna try and run off the road. The weekend ended like every other ride,pulling the bikes back into the garage and then sleeping off the hangover from the night before. Every ride ends the same but,every ride is never the same as the one before and leaves you wanting more.

When we started Violation tour it was because we had all been turning 30 and wanted to go leave our 20's reckless and drunk.Well fuck, a couple years later being reckless and drunk hurts a little more and has a little more problems that comes along with it.When V.T first happen I thought it was the greatest thing,How could shit get any better?

They older i've become the the more weird i've become and while id like to think it's more of a Howard Roark sort of way,the reality is it's more of a Howard hughes sort of way ,as he aged.
The one thing that I can say is,things are only getting better the older I get.I've reached a point where I feel each day is a good day to live.

This past summer was the best I can think of.Life always throws one at you and it's too bad summer ended with the loss that it did. There is always more time that i'd like to be on my bike but,fom that first weekend of may until now,the stories made for a great few months. I always liked to ride alone when I was younger but,now I value the time that I can look over and see one of my best buds blasting next to me.

This past September,the leg,his lady and I came ripping out of the city at about 3am.We had just came from a Bravetown hosted BBQ and had left just as the rain let up.As the Chicago skyline became smaller and smaller our speed became greater and greater.When youre that close to those tall buildings you feel as if your at the feet of giants and as we got farther away,we got lost in our own minds,our machines and eachother,At any given time in Chicago traffic is a sonafabitch but,being that it was the holiday weekend 90/94 was wide open,all lanes free for two pans to run loose........ If the summer was going to end soon then that night was the way I wanted it to end. Those Pans ran so fucking great that night that everything seemed like it was meant to be.I would have killed to have seen the 3 of of us blasting side by side at 85mph at 3 in the morning,the feeling was amazing and the site must have been equally the same........That night meant a lot to my soul and made everything in my life and mind come together. When I finally check out this is one the memory I hope that I can take with me..........

Its a pretty clean little 1974 CB360. So now they have their own little powder coating/bike shop in Lakemoor, IL. I've known Scott for at least 12 years now. Back then, he had hair, a shitstang, and lots of white tennis shoes. He backed over our friends parents mailbox one winter night when I was high on Ecstasy. We where all getting fucked up, drinking, partying, etc. Our friends parents where coming home from a funeral and saw the mailbox laying in the snow....they werent too happy with good ole scotty boy. But, he made up for it with a nice little apology note, his charm,and maybe even a new mailbox. Since that faithful night scott "mailbox" was born a legend. With more years to come and more stories, I have to say, Scott is definetly a character and I'm glad to call him a friend. We've shared lots of laughs and miles on the road. Scott will be posting on the blog from time to time. Welcome aboard you fuckin Dago!

WI roads are some of the best roads I have ever ridden. Dowtown Madison kinds sucks, lots of construction, but what they call "the suburbs" is actually farmland. I live in Cambridge which is about 20 minutes east of Madison. Right outside my door the best riding awaits. Its literally fuckin amazing. No grid pattern to follow, just smooth, rolling, twisty roads with no traffic!

Its funny how things progress in such a short period of time. You only go around once and if you wait too long an opportunity may pass you by. Sitting in your diapers at the age of 80 you'll be wondering where all the years went, why you didn't travel more, experience life a little more, or take a leap of faith and maybe be a little more happy with your lifes ambitions I don't have kids, a mortgage, a wife. Pretty much......................I'm a free man.

When you move, you leave best friends,good friends, your girlfriend, family, and people whom you thought might be supportive of your endeavors.Time will tell who will be around 20-40 years and will it even matter by then?

I've never really cared about what other people think I should do with my life, and maybe that has came off as me being asshole, but, you gotta do, whatca gotta do sometimes and not worry about what your peers may think. Shit got pretty ridiculous before I left Chicago. Some people are pissed, some are missed, and some just probably don't give a fuck

Chicago as of late, is not a place for Blue Collar growth. Illinois is the worst state for job growth right now according to NPR. Union work is non-existent (except for the lucky few), Non-Union wages suck, commuting is horrible, and probably the worst in the country, if not, in the top 5. And, its expensive to try to survive independently on 25-35k a year, yet alone, support all your bad habits.

So, I took a Foreman job in Madison WI. Moved what little shit I had, and I am finally starting to get settled in. I'm hoping for things to work out and all my hard work to pay off. If not, I return to familiar land.

More pics to come, I'm excited to start exploring Wisconsin. The roads are smooth, the landscape is amazing, and its a nice breath of fresh air compared to what I am use too. Wish me luck!

My New Panhead....Handshakes!... Karma.... and a big sooo long!!!!

About a few weeks back a good friend of mine Ray informed me that he was selling one of his Panhead motors. He's an ol timer with plenty of pans, knucks, flattys and shovels and loads of other goodies. Along with the motor he had a super nice 50 wishbone frame and a 4 speed tranny. The timing was just about right and i had to have it. You see Ray's the kind of guy who does what he says he's going to do and understands the meaning of a handshake. I told him i needed a couple weeks to gather up all the loot.. he passed up numerous other offers in those weeks and stayed true to his word.. money exchanged hands and it was on!! after i brought home the goodies it was time to build a motorcycle.. i told everyone i would be riding by the end of the month.. not sure how many people took me seriously.

week 1..After cleaning up all the extra "chopper" bullshit that was welded on the frame a nice clean almost perfect structure awaited. i fitted up the motor and tranny and checked to make sure everything was still square then passed it on to my good friend Andy.. Andy sandblasted all the old layers of paint and squirted it a nice single stage black..

week 2.. i spent the next week digging through the basement at my favorite little parts shop...Action Cycles. Buddy the owner of Action informed me he would be buying out a "load" of parts from some old timer.. in this load appeared quite a few little Panhead pieces.. including that neat little fender, seat and sissy bar.. also numerous "little" parts like brake linkages, rods pedals, primary covers ect. whatever wasnt in those piles were in Buddys "archives".. You see i spend a lot of money down at Action on alot of peoples bikes and Buddy appreciates these things so very little green actually left my hands... These parts (not including that seat, sissy bar, fender combo) are genuine Harley Davidson equiptment.. some of which was beat up and needed a little tweaking and some of it was chromed by the chopper freaks.. either way it wasnt bought from a catalog and made by some 12 yr old boy in Taiwan..

Does that front end look famialiar?? thats a side mount front end off of my friend Joshs chop. you see Josh had some debts with me and also planned on changing up the look of his chop anyway, so he tossed it my way, i threw a narrow glide on his bike for him until he can find the springer of his dreams, he is debt free and now we can both ride... my buddy Ray had an old star hub wheel laying around so he donated it to the cause.

Week 3 i spent assembling, cleaning tweaking and making these piles of parts into a neat little bike. I purchased new tires, chain and a 1-1/2" primary belt from Buddy because some things that will leave me stranded i sure dont like to skimp on. I took an old set of buckhorn bars i had layin around and chopped and dropped and made them fit just right. That sporty tank was laying around my buddy Andys house so i confiscated it as my own.. i notched out the bottom of it so it would slide right over that stock fatbob mount, a gas cap from a brit bike i had was mounted to the side i tossed it to Andy and he squirted it with some old Lacquer he had buried in his shop.. Now all that was left was to figure out an exhaust. My good friend Jay (who i can count on time and time again) enlisted his help in lining up some bends. I told him what i was looking for so he put his nose to the grindstone, after they were all lined up i zapped them up with the buzz box and i was ready to rock... I hammered down around 250 miles this weekend with nothing short of a loose bolt..

Now maybe the karma gods were looking over my shoulder or i just got lucky.. either way this bike came together quickly. i ignored everything around me the last couple weeks and busted my ass never keeping my eye off the prize.. You see the last couple of years ive learned a whole lot, the people that got me back into the motorcycle scene are the same people who will turn me away from it.. I couldnt even imagine how many FREE hours ive spent trouble shooting, welding, fabricating, busting my knuckles.. and all for what?? So my "friends" who dont have the cash or the knowledge can be in the wind? or is it the satisfaction i get when i hear a motor run for the first time.. I love Welding, Fabricating, wiring, fine tuning, adjusting points, carbs, mechanical brakes, clean assembly..and so on... maybe thats why i do it... and Funny how when its my turn to shine you can almost hear a pin drop in the shop.. about the only thing i got was "are you done with your bike YET'? or " i would help but i would just get in the way"... Or how about the "friends" who know your freshly built scoot is sitting out in the parking lot of the local bar but have no interest in walking 20 feet to look at it... maybe the older i get the easier it is to call out the people in my life that get me down... who knows.. either way im going to keep building the shit out of everything i see and im going to ride the wheels off of this motorcycle!! and no one is gunna fucking stop me!!
